Dr. Rifat Abbas

Assistant Professor  Dr. Rifat Abbas Khan is working as Assistant Professor of Education at Sukkur IBA since April 2015. Before Joining Sukkur IBA, Dr. Rifat worked as Assistant Professor of Education at Preston University Islamabad from June 2014 to April 2015 and at PMAS-Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi from Feb. 2013 to Feb. 2014.He was awarded with the HEC overseas scholarship for M.Phil. leading to PhD in 2008 and did his M.Phil. from University Lumiere Lyon2 France in 2009 and PhD in Education from University Paul Valery Montpellier3, France in September 2012. His teaching and research interests include Educational Psychology, Emotional Intelligence, Social Emotional Learning, Emotional Capital, Emotional Competencies, Emotions at workplace, Stress Management, Emotions and Health, Theory and Methods of Research in Education, Philosophy of Education, Critical and Creative thinking. Dr. Rifat has been teaching courses at MPhil and PhD level. He has evaluated different M.Phil. Thesis and has been a member of jury in different M.Phil. and PhD defences. Dr. Rifat developed a social emotional learning program for primary school children and successfully implemented it. He has presented his work at two international conferences in Spain and France. He is listed as emerging researcher at European Educational Research Association (EERA) and a listed member at emonet (a global group of scholars working in fields of emotions in organizations connected electronically). Dr. Rifat has also written two columns on social issues in ‘ The Daily Pakistan’
